October 23, 2024 - CAA & Civic Garden Center Team Up to Install Pollinator Garden in Bond Hill

Friday October 25th , 2024 beginning at 9am until Noon The Cincinnati- Hamilton County Community Action Agency (CAA) and the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati (CGC) are teaming up to install a Pollinator Garden at the CAA Headquarters located at 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237. The garden will be planted just outside of the CAA Head Start Preschool near the Bond Hill Library entrance at the CAA building. "CAA is excited about this wonderful collaboration with the Civic Garden Center to bring this garden to our Bond Hill offices.” Shared Matt Strauss of CAA. “It not only provides a little beauty to an underused spot, but also shows how anyone can do a little something to help restore native habitats no matter where they are." The Community Action Agency’s vision of an equitable, self-sufficient community and the Civic Garden Center’s mission to build community through environmental stewardship bring together all the elements necessary for an ideal collaboration of this kind. “Collaborating with the Community Action Agency will allow the Civic Garden Center to continue to raise awareness of climate impacts in our most vulnerable communities,” said Karen Kahle, CGC Executive Director. “As our work in conservation and, specifically, urban habitat restoration expands, this collaboration with the CAA gives us the opportunity to effectively assist community members with the creation and long-term maintenance of a great public greenspace. The partnership hopes to build a lasting people-plant connection at the CAA headquarters and expose a new generation to the beauty and value of native plants. As environmental justice becomes a larger part of the conversation around poverty and inequality, projects like this represent a small-scale localized approach to repairing urban environments and transforming our relationship with nature.”
