Scope of Services
The CAA CARS program offers a unique opportunity for clients to purchase a vehicle and gain crucial financial knowledge and empowerment. We aim to empower participants to secure reliable transportation, enabling them to obtain or retain employment and education.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must live in Hamilton County
- 18 years or older
- Must be employed.
- Valid driver’s license
- CARS clients must be at or below 200% Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
- Proof of insurance (at the time of car purchase)
Program Requirements
- Must demonstrate ability to maintain car ownership after purchase
- Participants must have a vehicle inspection before purchase (up to 2 inspections covered)
- Participants must purchase vehicles from a reputable dealership
- A minimum of $1,000 is required from the client to be matched 2:1
- Meet weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly with CAA Financial Coach
Vehicle Purchase
- Eligible CARS participants can contribute up to $2,000 towards the purchase of a vehicle to be matched
- CAA will match participants' savings 2:1 up to $4,000 towards the purchase of the vehicle
- Participant may be eligible for a preventative maintenance voucher for up to $250
